First Day in Kinder and 5th Birthday

Ola! I better write something quick before this blog starts having abandonment issues. It feels like ages since the last time I posted here. Our life has significantly changed ever since I. started preschool. Do you want to see him on his first day in Kindergarten, two months ago?

Our little schoolboy
We chose a progressive school about 11 km away from home. He's in the afternoon Kinder class with 6 other students. A small-sized class will benefit I. well since this is his first year in school. It's also time for him to learn Filipino so the bilingual set-up, as discussed during the Orientation in May, will also be very helpful, we thought. The first quarter of school will be over by September and everyday I ask him if he likes his school and he always replies with a resounding "Yes!". My husband and I can't be happier by our decision to send him to this school.

He also celebrated his 5th birthday with his classmates last June.
"Where the Wild Things Are" Birthday Celebration in School

Neither I nor his Dad have ever experienced celebrating our birthdays in school so this newly five-year old boy really got his parents excited for his day. We were only given a few minutes to sing him a birthday song and distribute cupcakes, empanadas, and lemonade to the his teacher and classmates. He must have shrieked at least ten times while we were there. He said he's so happy and "This is so fun" a number of times.

We are eternally grateful for this time in our lives. We hope not to forget.
